In 2019, a team of two other students and I collaborated with Bridgewell Recuperative Care Center, a respite serving people who are unhoused in Lynn, MA, to create an art and wellness program. Through lots of conversations with residents of the center and test runs, we designed a program that includes an easy-to-follow art curriculum, free art supplies for the center, and portable art kits for residents to take with them when they are ready to leave the center. Additionally, we were able to secure a $1000 grant from the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless to keep the program running.
Below are some examples of the work that residents of the center created through the program.
